Macu4
The Challenge
Macu4 produces customized forearm prostheses for outdoor activities. Customers upload their dimensions and receive 3D printed parts that comply with the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and have a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). Macu4 also wanted to configure customer orders and automatically create reports, packing lists and order-specific information to optimize the production process.
Our solution
Additive Marking Serializer
By using our serializer, Macu4 was able to add direct part markings to its components (including GTINs) to demonstrate product authenticity and support compliance with European medical device regulations. This compliance is crucial as it guarantees the safety and effectiveness of the products, thereby strengthening trust between end users and regulators.
In addition, our solutions support Macu4 in digital inventory management, simplifying and automating the ordering process; In addition to developing a user interface that allows Macu4 to configure customer orders, each order is accompanied by an automatically generated report containing comprehensive information about the parts in the order. Additionally, after each order, our system generates two versions of the inventory – the original parts and the marked part files – providing additional security in case an issue arises during the manufacturing phase.
Overall, by implementing our Additive Marking Suite, Macu4 achieved greater production efficiency and increased customer satisfaction by delivering products that meet the highest quality and compliance standards. The one-time setup of the order configurator and the automatic generation of reports is an easily transferable workflow that can benefit companies from a wide range of industries.
