Böllhof
The challenge
The Böllhoff Group, a leader in fastening and assembly solutions, develops high-quality fixtures for various industries such as aerospace, energy and automotive. Additive Marking advised on the development of end-to-end traceability in the manufacture of helicoil spindles. As helicoils are small and curved, conventional marking was not possible. A project was carried out to integrate optimal direct markings for traceability.
Our solution
Additive Marking Serializer
Through our collaboration, we identified laser marking technology as the optimal solution to integrate unique, machine-readable codes into the spindles. The successful integration of direct labeling into the components brought several benefits: it enabled data to be captured at every stage of production, improving quality management throughout the production process. The use of CAD to generate machine-readable codes made it possible to parameterize the components with minimal manual intervention, significantly reducing the potential for errors. Above all, the efficiency of inventory management was drastically improved. Tools could be tracked and their locations logged directly in the ERP system, streamlining the process and adding significant value to the operation.
